In autumn 2006, my new wife Stephanie and I travelled to the U.S.A. to spend time with her relatives. This was my first experience of America, and I was fascinated by the simultanous familiarity and strangeness of somewhere we all know so well from films and T.V., but which nonetheless remains very foreign to a European like me.
In October 2010 we visited again with our little daughter, and the photographs in this portfolio are my attempt to capture various facets of the experience, from the epic to the domestic.
